Goodbye Teenage Years

September 5th was my last day as a teenager. September 6th was my first day as a 20 year old.
That makes me seem old. I had to rise early in the morning, as I had to be at work at 7am.
Though once everyone at work found out that it was my birthday, the main reaction was “wait you’re seriously 20? you don’t look 20.”
I guess I’ll hold onto that for awhile.
The whole team sang to me, while I was taking a guest order at drive through. What a laugh.
I do love working there though, it’s so much fun. It’s also my first job working with people who aren’t under the age of seven.
As an early birthday gift, my body decided it would be really cool if I came down with a nasty cold. Having worked 8 hour shifts almost every day for the last two and a half weeks, I was exhausted and went straight to bed for a two hour nap.
With a little bit of drool, I woke up in time to get ready for dinner and eat with family and friends at the house.
There was delicious lasagna, garlic bread(with a smiley face on it) and of course cake!
Something that has been a tradition every birthday my sister and I have is that our dad makes us a cake. He designs it himself, usually asking us ahead of time what kind of cake we like, and what design we want it to be. My sister this year had the Divergent flame and I had  a mountain cake.
He’s quite artistic and they always turn out really neat!
After eating and catching up with family friends we headed off to the Irish Festival for a short while before heading over to my dads girlfriends house for cards and dice.

I had a great birthday, even though I felt completely exhausted and poorly.

I wore my jawbreaking “Not all who wander are lost” top (you can see that here) with just a pair of black skinny jeans.

I hope you’re all having a great September so far!
xx
